Recommendations As shown in Figure 6.17 , transit gaps are concentrated in outlying growth areas and along key corridors, reflecting a mix of coverage, frequency, and connectivity limitations. Recommendation #1: Prioritize Transit Near Development Align new service with future development patterns and pilot flexible or microtransit services in low-density, hard-to-serve areas. Investments should be prioritized by the following needs: ■ High: Need service enhancement. ■ Medium: Targeted investments, such as microtransit or first/last-mile infrastructure could meaningfully improve accessibility. ■ Low: Long-term opportunities for transit investments as growth and development patterns shift.
Recommendation #2: Improve Connections to Goods & Services Prioritize first/last mile connectivity improvements near healthcare, education and major employers, which include the following locations: ■ I-20 / Granbury Rd area ■ US 377 / SH 183 areas ■ I-820, I-35W, and Fort Worth Meacham airport ■ Alta Mesa Blvd and McCart Ave ■ I-820 and SH 180 ■ Along I-30 and East Chase Parkway Recommendation #3: Schedule & Design Enhancements Identify where schedule changes are needed to reduce transfer wait times, improve route design to optimize transfer and connectivity, and invest in design improvements to transfer hubs to improve rider experience.
Recommendation #4: Improve & Increase Service Frequency Increase service frequency or span in early mornings, late nights or weekends. Frequency improvements should prioritize the following: ■ High: Late-shift employment and shopping activity, pointing to strong cases for extended evening or weekend service. ■ Medium: Improved weekend or early morning service could increase transit accessibility for students, healthcare users, and workers. ■ Low: Incrementally improve network access and coverage. Recommendation #5: Target Underperforming Routes Invest in performance monitoring and bus priority treatments on key routes. Review resource allocation for underperforming routes.
