6.15.2. Transit Priority Areas Transit priority areas were identified through a tiered spatial analysis combining the Transit Supportive Index (TSI), developed as part of the Plan’s gap analysis process, with high-priority origin-destination pair analysis and review of local plans and the Future Land Use Map. The resulting priority map identifies Core-High, Core-Medium, and Core-Low zones within the Central Area, and City-High, City-Medium, and City-Low zones across Fort Worth as a whole. The priority areas were refined in coordination with Trinity Metro, incorporating operational and service planning priorities including the identification of additional transit-priority zones along East Lancaster Avenue, a corridor with significant near-term development activity and strong connections to the Core. 6.15.3. Transit Techway Network Vision Looking further into the future, the transit strategy points toward a high-capacity transit network, referred to as the transit techway system, that would provide the infrastructure backbone for Core-focused growth. The network concept includes an Eastside Transit Techway connecting eastern Core neighborhoods and emerging employment areas; a Westside Transit Techway linking the Cultural District and western neighborhoods to Downtown; a Central Transit Techway providing high-frequency service through downtown itself; an Alliance Tech Express leveraging managed lanes along I-35W to connect downtown to the Alliance employment area to the north; and a Central Station Hub serving as the primary transfer and intermodal point for the network.
