The network concept also identifies opportunities to leverage future High Speed Rail infrastructure, including preservation of an existing tunnel and potential co-alignment, as well as connections between the Tandy and HSR tunnel systems. These are long-range planning
concepts that require further study and coordination with NCTCOG, state, and federal partners as Fort Worth’s transit system evolves. The transit techway approach is aligned with the NCTCOG Transit 2.0 plan, which seeks to
reshape the public transit landscape across North Central Texas by mid-century. Fort Worth’s CtC transit strategy is designed to be compatible with and supportive of core capacity and that regional effort.
