Minor Arterial Minor arterials provide mobility within subareas of the City and distribute trips between major arterials, collectors, and local street networks. They accommodate moderate traffic volumes and provide more frequent access opportunities than major arterials while still supporting area-wide circulation. Minor arterials often serve shorter trips and provide connections between neighborhoods, commercial districts, and activity centers.
Major Collector Major collectors gather and distribute traffic between arterial roadways and local streets. They balance mobility and access, supporting key local circulation needs for residential, commercial, and industrial development. These facilities provide connections to schools, parks, community amenities, and employment areas. ROW for major collectors must accommodate the range of uses and modes appropriate to corridor context, as detailed in subsequent cross-section guidance. Minor Collector Minor collectors provide local circulation within neighborhoods or commercial areas. They connect local streets to the broader network and primarily serve adjacent land uses. Minor collectors are retained for reference but are not mapped as part of the updated Master Roadway Network.
Industrial Collector Industrial collectors accommodate truck movements, industrial access needs, and freight-related loading activities. They are designed to support larger turning radii, heavier vehicle loads, and access patterns specific to industrial areas. Design expectations for industrial collectors are carried forward from the previous Master Thoroughfare Plan and will be refined through future freight and industrial planning efforts. Local Streets Local streets provide direct access to properties and support low-speed travel within neighborhoods and small commercial areas. They are not included in the mapped Master Roadway Network and are governed by subdivision and development standards.
