1.6. Network Maps The Master Roadway Network establishes the long-term structure of Fort Worth’s transportation system and serves as the foundation for roadway planning, design, and implementation. The network maps in this section define roadway function, long-term capacity, and implementation responsibility across the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
The MRN defines the full build-out network to support system continuity, support growth, and connect key destinations. The Master Roadway Network – City Roadways (MRN-CR) identifies the subset of facilities owned and maintained by the City of Fort Worth. In addition to the base network, overlays are applied to modify how roadways are designed and operated based on context. These overlays reflect areas with distinct travel patterns, land use conditions, and design priorities. Figure 1.3 shows the the relationship between the Master Roadway Network, the City roadway subset, and applicable network overlays.
