1.8.2. Supporting Roadway Classifications (Not Mapped) Several roadway classifications remain essential to Fort Worth’s transportation network but are not mapped in the Master Roadway Network because their design and alignment are determined through subdivision regulations, development review, or context- specific planning processes. These facilities allow for local circulation, industrial access, multimodal safety, and transit-supportive urban conditions. Their inclusion in this framework clarifies how they complement the mapped cross-section hierarchy. Minor Collectors Minor Collectors provide neighborhood- and district-level circulation, connecting local streets to the arterial and major collector network. They serve both residential and non- residential land uses and are designed to provide continuous access between higher- classification facilities while discouraging long- distance through traffic. Minor Collectors carry lower traffic volumes, operate at moderate speeds, and emphasize access and local mobility over throughput. The Standard Minor Collector cross-section with a shared use path, as shown in Figure 1.32 , is the default requirement without an administrative waiver..

Within the Compact Development Areas, the Enhanced Minor Collector Cross-Section is encouraged. The enhanced configuration, as shown in Figure 1.33 , includes separated

bicycle and pedestrian facilities and space for on-street parking and seating to support walkable, mixed-use environments.
