Making Space for Technology Technology Priority Corridors identify locations where the City will focus on deploying and coordinating transportation technologies that improve safety, reliability, and system performance. Corridors were identified based on existing and planned initiatives and together create a framework for testing, scaling, and coordinating technology-enabled transportation strategies. The map identifies several initiative types: HOTT (Hub of Transportation Technology) Corridors target next-generation infrastructure including advanced signals, premium transit, and automated delivery systems. Local Tech Opportunity Corridors support innovative transit technology along potential high-capacity routes. SMARTer Weather Safer Mobility locations deploy micro-weather sensors to reduce weather-related delays. SMART Street Lights transmit real-time traffic and safety data. Automated Port Lanes, the Elevated Direct Connector Bridge, and the Depot Bridge support autonomous freight operations at the Alliance intermodal campus. Managed Lanes on IH-35W provide actively managed freeway capacity. Fiber Sprocket corridors and locations are identified for public WiFi and fiber optic infrastructure deployment. Together, these investments position Fort Worth as a leader in technology-enabled mobility and establish the corridors where innovation in transportation will be tested, scaled, and integrated into the network over time.
