HOBOKEN, NJ – On November 18, CREW NJ–Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey , held its First Annual Holiday Cocktail Party. The evening featuring networking, cocktails and giveaways was held at The W Hotel in Hoboken. “With this event, we are pleased to have established a new tradition for CREW NJ,” said chapter president Monica Ceres, Esq. of Giordano Halleran & Ciesla . “CREW NJ continues to provide important informational, educational and networking opportunities for our members, including access to the nearly 9,000-member CREW Network.” November’s Philanthropy benefited the CREW Network Foundation, with CREW NJ past presidents generously matching new donor contributions up to $10 per person. CREW NJ impressively ranks 5th highest out of the 74 chapters whose members donate to the foundation. Altogether, the event raised $1,320, bringing the total raised for the foundation in 2014 to $3,260. “The CREW Network Foundation’s mission is to help women and girls ex- perience the same achievements members have enjoyed in the real estate industry, to advance the success of women in commercial real estate, and to provide annual scholarships for women pursuing a degree in real estate,” said Elisa Buckley of Langan Engineering and Environmental and CREW Foundation Chapter Champion. “By contributing to the foundation, you are helping women in our industry succeed, and we sincerely thank all those who have contributed.” The November event follows the chapter’s October event at the American Dream Mall in the Meadowlands. There, attendees were provided with an inside look on the transformation of what was formerly known as Xanadu into a state-of-the-art retail and entertainment center by the creators of the Mall of America in Minneapolis. The statistics are impressive, attendees learned: American Dream will be 25% larger, cost more than $2 billion and employ up to 12,000 people when it’s completed by the 2016 holiday season. Among retailers already signed on are Saks 5th Avenue, Victoria’s Secret, Bed Bath & Beyond, FAO Schwartz, Toys R Us, Burrton and Hard Rock Café, to name a few. And American Dream will be much more than shopping and dining: The completed project will include a water park, amusement rides, a hockey rink, aquarium, ski slope, hotel, and performances by Cirque du Soleil. The fact- filled evening concluded with a networking dinner at the Park and Orchard Restaurant in Rutherford. Next on the agenda for CREWNJ was the chapter’s “Induction and Year-End Celebration,” on December 11, 2014 at Dolce Basking Ridge Hotel, Basking Ridge, NJ. The event honored the chapter’s outgoing board, welcomed the incoming board, celebrated this year’s President’sAward winners and thanked chapter sponsors. December’s philanthropy is CREW NJ’s 14th Annual Toy Drive. CREW NJ is the New Jersey Chapter of CREW Network (Commercial Real Estate Network), which is dedicated to the advancement of women in com- mercial real estate.
