In verse 8 of this chapter, we have God’s answer to man’s question: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” This does not mean that God was dis pleased with the offering of sacrifices, but it does mean that he wanted them to “GO” and “DO GOOD” afterwards. thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips . . . I will heal their backsliding, J, will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.” Forgiveness has been a frequent theme all through the Bible. Time after time the messengers of God have called His people to repentance, offering them for giveness. In 1 John 1:9, we read, “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteausness.” It is wonder ful to know that forgiveness is for us, as well as for the people of the day in which Hosea lived. May 21. 1950 Go and Do G ood Objects: Four nursery blocks, which spell the word “G-O-O-D.” Lesson: A little girl was once playing with four building blocks like these. She had just learned to spell and was seeing how many words she could make with the four blocks. “ Mother,” she said, “ I can spell ‘Go’ and ‘Do.’ ” “ That’s good, Mary. See whether or not you can find other words.” “ Oh, Mother, I can spell ‘GOOD,’ too.” “ I am glad you found that word,” said Mother. “ That was the word I hoped you would find. Mary, these four little blocks can teach us a wonderful lesson, if we are willing to learn. It is ‘GOOD’ to ‘GO’ and ‘DO’ the things God wants us to do. This is a lesson in obedience.” In the days of the prophet Micah, the people were very sinful. In Micah 2:1, we read, “Woe to them that devise iniq uity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.” Because of the sin of God’s people, He sent the prophet Micah to them to warn them of the judgment that would come if they did not repent. They made the mis take of thinking that all God required of them was to go through the regular forms of worship and the offering of sac rifices. After having done this, they thought they could go on and live as they had been living before. In Micah 6:7 they ask the question, “Will the Lord be pleased with thou sands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, .the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”

Well-meaning men have been trying for many years to straighten out the na tions of earth, only to find that their efforts are hopeless. We might take much time and try to straighten these nails out, but the slightest shake would cause them to be mixed up again. I have an idea as to how these nails can be straightened and kept straight. It is by using this large white magnet. I will take the nails and place their heads against the magnet. They now stay where I put them. When Christ comes into the lives of people, they are like this. This is true of individuals and nations. The reason why the world is without peace today is because Christ is not the center of things. Now that we have made all of these nails contact the magnet, we find that no slight shaking will cause thjm to be mixed again. The reason for this change is that the magnet now controls the nails. Peace will come to this world only when Christ is the center of all things, and is controlling all nations. We are all interested in having peace, but we must realize that this will never be accom plished so far as the world is concerned, until Christ comes to rule and reign. However, individuals can receive Christ as Saviour, and then in their own hearts they have peace with God. Micah the prophet spoke of the days when the nations of the world would have peace in chapter 4 and verse 3 of his. prophecy, “ And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S
