Les Bandits récoltent une première victoire

Le match a tourné au vinaigre pour les Bandits au dernier vingt. Les Aigles ont in- scrit cinq filets sans réplique, dont deux en supériorité numérique, pour s’emparer d’une victoire de 6-3. Éric Donato, Nigel Roy et Éric Leclerc ont marqué pour Cumberland. Rémi Leclerc a récolté deux mentions d’aide.

CUMBERLAND | Les Bandits de Cumber- land ont signé leur première victoire de la saison en défaisant les Panthères d’Embrun au compte de 3-1, samedi, au complexe sportif Ray Friel. Matt Hamelin a ouvert la marque en su- périorité numérique avec deux minutes à faire à la première période, sur les passes de Brody McLeod et Remi Leclerc. Les Panthères étaient toujours dormants en début de deuxième période. Les Ban- dits ont profité d’une autre attaque à cinq pour envoyer Christian Renaud marquer un deuxième but avec l’aide de Remi Leclerc et Vincent Harris. Les Panthères ont finale- ment répliqué avec quatre minutes à faire à la période. Le pointage était de 2-1 après 40 minutes de jeu. L’équipe d’Embrun a tenté de revenir dans le match, s’étant activée qu’en milieu de match. Le cerbère de Cumberland, Roméo Boudreau, n’a pas accordé d’espace cepen- dant. Éric Leclerc a complété lesmanœuvres de Bordy McLeod et Remi Leclerc pour scel- ler la victoire. Le lendemain, les Bandits rendaient vis- ite aux Aigles, à l’aréna de Saint-Isidore. L’équipe de Cumberland semblait bien en voie de conclure le week-end sur une note positive menant le match par la marque de 3-1 après deux périodes.

The latest update to the Central Canadian Hockey League (CCHL) standings has the Grads at 14 points after 12 games played in the Yzerman division. That puts them above the Gloucester Rangers, occupying the bot- tom rung of the division ladder with eight points after a dozen games. Cumberland and Cornwall over in the Robinson division both have 14 points, though Cornwall has a game in hand with just 11 matches finished on the season schedule.
