TB+A’s integrated design team worked closely with the client to facilitate both their brief and DENI Education Design Standards to provide first-class educational facilities. Bywaters+Anders (TB+A), provided full MEP design services for the new In addition to new STEM provisions, a sixth form centre, drama, careers, and media hub were introduced, while also addressing other deficiencies at both schools such as improving substandard existing school accommodation. The major challenge of this project was the validation and extension of the M+E systems within the existing two sites to facilitate the proposed works. The main M&E primary services were upgraded and extended accordingly, resulting in the
construction of new M&E plantrooms. Construction works were carried out within a live education campus environment and were phased to best achieve uninterrupted operation of the existing colleges. Commenting, Allister Bloomer Project Associate at TB+A, said: “This was the first Shared Education Campus of its type in Northern Ireland. We are immensely proud to have been part of the team to successfully deliver this wonderful project. The facilities will make a huge difference to the staff and pupils at Limavady High School and St. Mary’s Limavady, enhancing their educational experiences into the future.” Damien McMullan, Associate at TB+A, added, “Having worked with Woodvale and their supply chain successfully on several other high-profile education
schemes meant the contract team was quick to get up to speed and everyone clearly understood the role they had to play in delivering the project. We established trust from the outset that everyone would meet their obligations in a timely manner to provide a successful outcome for our client.”
