WINNERS

The GB & RoI Refurbishment Project of the Year, above £2.5m award was introduced to accommodate the large variety of projects submitted for reuse of existing buildings. The winning entry was summed up by the client who said, “The project was a great combination of bringing a building back into use with efficient and effective delivery of a very complex site in very complicated times.” The Grade II listed building, Signature at Hendon Hall, provides luxury senior living accommodation and five-star amenities. With many original features to preserve, the Farrans Construction team alternated between traditional building techniques and modern methods of construction. The GB & RoI Infrastructure/Civil Engineering Project of the Year, above £2.5m award is a new category, introduced to accommodate a particularly strong entry of construction projects this year, and for which there was intense competition. The winning scheme by GRAHAM delivered a new, two-platform station along with a pedestrian/cycle bridge. The judges praised how GRAHAM’s innovative approach to the work environment on the Marsh Barton Railway Station project promoted the scheme in a way that considered all the different users and developed a collaborative approach. This ultimately resulted in a highly technical and complex solution at Marsh Barton.
