Furthermore, 45% of respondents said that they were not fully aware of not regularly updating themselves on relevant H&S rules, and 39% acknowledged there is not always an emphasis on ensuring junior colleagues or trainees know how to follow H&S rules. Only 60% said they would step in and question a colleague if they were not following a serious rule. A 24-month window has opened allowing SMEs to register their interest in gaining fast-tracked, lower-value government and public sector contracts. News alert service Wired-Gov has announced an extended registration period for The Supplier Locator Procurement Gateway from October 2023 to October 2025. UK government and public sector spend with SMEs for goods and services is estimated to be more than £220bn a year, with the Cabinet Office and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy having set a goal of £1 of every £3 of government spend going to SMEs by 2022. The Wired-Gov Supplier Locator Service has been developed specifically to embrace the SME agenda and provide a platform for SMEs and suppliers to communicate directly with buyers and decision makers across the government and public sector community. Larger value contracts are also available through the platform. For full registration details, contact edward.hamill@wired-gov.org or call +44 (0)161 938 8226.
