NUGENT is thrilled to provide mechanical and electrical installation services at the new Shimna Integrated College, based in Newcastle, Co. Down. The new £19 million college will replace the current Post Primary School, founded in 1994, to deliver state-of-the-art facilities for the students and teachers within the area. The Shimna Integrated College building will have an area of 10,000m 2 spanning across three storeys. The new all-inclusive college will offer modern and energy-efficient facilities for 620 pupils of all abilities in the heart of the Mourne Mountains. Pre-Construction Director Colum Sheppard said, “We are delighted to be on board the magnificent new Shimna Integrated College alongside construction firm Glasgiven. The project is designed to be energy efficient, and the school development will boost local employment to the area, which is always a bonus to the community.” The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2025. HAGAN HOMES CELEBRATES 35 YEARS BY HANDING OVER 5,000TH HOME

Ballyclare homebuilder Hagan Homes has completed its 5,000th home, coinciding with its 35th anniversary. The company has also seen its turnover increase by 94.1% in the last two years. The homebuilder is currently working on six housing development projects in Northern Ireland (Ballyveigh, Byron Halt, Enler Village, Foxleigh Meadow, Water’s Edge, Shimna Mile), with five developments recently completed at Ashdene Wood, Highgrove Meadows, Ebrington Hall, Medway and Mulberry Coleraine.

WATKIN JONES BREAKS GROUND AT FIRST BTR SCHEME IN NI

Watkin Jones, the UK’s leading developer and manager of residential for-rent homes, in partnership with Lacuna Developments, and contractor Graham has commenced work on the first Build to Rent (BTR) scheme in NI, at The Loft Lines Titanic Quarter in Belfast. The site is funded by the financial service group Legal & General and will also deliver social homes for the Clanmil Housing Association. The work will transform the site into a new riverside residential community, which comprises 627 BTR homes and 151 affordable homes. The Loft Lines will also feature lounges, sports and recreational spaces, cinema rooms and children’s play areas. “We are delighted to bring the first BTR scheme to Belfast. The Titanic Quarter is steeped in rich history, and transforming this brownfield site into a thriving place to live will act as a catalyst for a wider regeneration,” said George Dyer, Group Investment Director, Watkin Jones.
