A brief introduction to CHARO ZAPATER’S ARTWORK
Charo Zapater Pomar is a Peruvian fine artist who resides between Lima (Peru) and Florence (Italy).
She has an extensive artistic biography as she has been showing for many years her artworks at different locations in America and Europe. Her work is comprised of magnificent abstractions which were born in her mind and personal experiences, including a special homage to nature and the skies. She has always been able to project a restless spirit that has never been detained by time or adversity. Ms. Zapater is a clear example of tireless artistic work. Each piece, like a poem, deserves the analysis and thoughtfulness of the observer. Maybe we may say that each of her paintings can tell a different story. This book pretends to show the world – thanks to digital media – the work of an artist whose sincerity and devotion to the arts and culture has no limits.

Charo Zapater Pomar Born in Peru – Resident of Lima (Peru) and Florence (Italy)
Charo Zapater Pomar was born in Peru, studied painting in Burton Manor College, Chester, England, engraving in the Escuela de Bellas Artes in San Jordi, Barcelona, and in 1976 graduated with honors in the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. In 2003 she traveled to Camerun, Africa, where she investigated ancestral native techniques. Back in Peru, she collaborated with AXIS Arte, an interdisciplinary project of research in applied art and design of the Art Faculty of Pontificia Universidad Católica in Lima (2004 - 2005). During the next two years, she did a specialization in Visual Arts and Multimedia Languages in the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Still in Italy, she collaborated with the South African artist William Kendridge in his project Triumph and Laments in Lungotevere, Rome. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and Museums in Europe and America:PARC, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Lima, Peru; Este-Arte, Montevideo, Uruguay; Galeria Imaginario, Marbella, Spain; ARTOUR, Korea and Shanghai, China.; Galería Yvonne Sanguineti, Lima, Peru; Fortezza Da Basso, Firenze, Italiy; Galeria Beaumont, The Netherlands.; Euroamericana, Pietra Santa, Italy; Galeria Forum Inter- Art, Roma, Italy’; Peru and at the Bienal intinerante de Arte “ Raices ”, Cuzco, Perú.
