Newlyweds and New Dentists Who Are the New Faces at Huron?

This month, I am very excited to introduce Dr. Esteban Morales and Dr. Kassandra Gorena. These newlyweds are also new to Huron and, like myself, they’ve moved from Texas to join Huron Smiles. I’ve worked with them at one of my other practices in Texas and I’m thrilled to have them as part of our team up here in Huron.

I’ll let Dr. Morales take it from here.

love the town. Huron is bustling with life and I’m excited to meet all 12,000 residents. Everyone I have met has been so nice and friendly!

Hello, everyone!

My name is Dr. Esteban Morales, and I am thrilled to be here. What a crazy month! Dr. Kassandra Gorena and I were married a few weeks ago — in the middle of packing and moving from Texas to South Dakota — and our first day at the office was April 1. It’s been a whirlwind but we are so grateful for the opportunity to serve the community of Huron. Dr. Gorena and I have worked with Dr. Drake in Texas for a number of years, and we love the way she runs her practice. Her values and work revolve completely around her patients, which is something Dr. Gorena and I both relate with. I got into dentistry because I liked the idea of being able to help people get out of pain quickly. Dentists get to do a little bit of everything; it’s both a medical field and an art. When patients come in, I like being able to give them what they need and fix their problems, so they leave the office feeling better than when they came. It’s very rewarding and part of the reason I love what I do. Like all newlyweds, we planned for our lives after marriage and continuing to work with Dr. Drake fit right into our plan. Although our families were sad to see us go, Dr. Gorena and I were excited to make the move. We really like the office and the staff, and we absolutely

I also really liked the idea of living someplace where my backyard is basically in the great outdoors. I’m a bit of a hunter, and I’m looking forward to getting out there and seeing what challenges South Dakota has to offer. Fishing is also at the top of my life. Up until now, most of my fishing has been done on the coast. It’s going to be great to see how freshwater fishing in rivers differs from saltwater fishing. Huron offers a nice balance between having space to stretch your arms and being part of a full town. We will definitely be taking advantage of that. Though it’s only been a few weeks, I can already tell we made the right move coming to Huron. On behalf of Dr. Gorena and myself, thank you to everyone we’ve met already for being so warm and welcoming. We look forward to meeting everyone and making Huron our home.
