Research and Planning Section The Research and Planning Section provides critical data to enable the department to make informed decisions, improve the effectiveness of the department, and to plan for future needs. The section is responsible for the following items. Strategic and Facility Planning Serving as a liaison to the Property Management Department in coordinating and implementing facility capital improvement projects Overseeing, tracking, and interpreting the data and measures used for operational decisions Researching and reporting crime statistics to the public Updating the FWPD website Developing departmental reports and plans Providing departmental Geographic Information System services Serving as a liaison with the Planning and Development Department Providing support to the Crime Control and Prevention District Board of Directors

Timeline
Provide quality customer service to the public by providing accurate and timely information to the public and to staff as requested. Assist Technology Services Section with revamping the website to align under the City of Fort Worth website structure and to make crime data enhancements to the City’s open data initiative in FY17. Facilitate, implement, and/or track initiatives and goals at least quarterly as outlined and assigned in the Strategic Plan, the Business Plan, and CCPD as well as annual Chief driven initiatives as assigned. Create a Five-Year Strategic Plan implementation database showing status of all action items using City’s ClearPoint software in FY17.
