The Lakes South Morang College Newsletter STUDENT PERSPECTIVE
YEAR 5 REFLECTION SOPHIA & KYLE YEAR 5 SRC
On Wednesday 6 th March, Year 3 – 6 students at the Secondary Campus participated in The Lakes cross country event, facing a challenging yet thrilling experience. With hearts pounding and nerves running high, students pushed themselves to conquer the course. Despite being nervous, the atmosphere quickly turned from nervousness to excitement as the runners found their rhythm and enjoyed the race. The sense of teamwork and support among the students added to the fun and exhilaration of the event. We have been absolutely thrilled to take part in the action - packed 5/6 sports sessions every Friday! Each week, we head over to the Secondary Campus for an adrenaline - pumping sports session. We have the choice of basketball, netball, soccer, or cricket to get our hearts racing. The highlight was the epic dodgeball showdown within the 5/6 cohort. And to top it off, the teachers jumped in on the fun, leading to some hilarious moments as we battled it out on the field. We, the students, of course won!

The Year 8 cohort have started the year really well and we have enjoyed the new changes that the school has made over the holidays. We have started our new electives that we will have for the first semester. We have Food Studies, Textiles and Media. We have also had the opportunity to be a part of Wakakirri and those of us who are members of it have started practicing. The performance is already looking great! We are all excited about the upcoming Athletics Day and we have also started Volleyball tryouts where teams will go out later in the Term.
