The Clarence Castors will play the Cum- berland Bandits next on Saturday, January 20 at the Ray Friel Recreation Complex in Orléans.This game is a special one as a fund- raising event will be taking place throughout the match. The Bandits are looking to give a helping hand to the three-year-old son of Paul Massad, who was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma in 2016 at the age of 21. Massad lost his battle to cancer inNovember 2017. All proceeds from this game will be donated to the fund set up for three-year-old Bentley by his father.

In their only game of the week, the Clar- ence Castors defeated the Bytown Royals 5-3 on Friday, January 12. Patrick Lemay led his team to victory with four points throughout the game. He picked up two goals and two assists. MatthewWil- son and Logan Lefebvre, both defensemen, each scored a goal for the Castors. Vincent Martel was the fourth goal scorer that led the team to a 5-3 victory. The Bytown Royals put up a fight the entire match. Rockland Nationals’ forward Antoine Leblanc was named week 17’s CCM Player of the week by the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). Leblanc, who plays left wing for his team, helped lead the Nats to win two of their three games during week 17 of the season. Leblanc made five points during these three games and scored four goals. He is second in scoring on the Nationals with 24 points with 12 goals and 12 assists in 39 games. He is preceded only by his teammate Mathieu Blanchette, who has 37 points in 41 games. Leblanc, 21, is originally from Drummondville, Quebec. He is the first Rockland Nats player to be named player of the week in the 2017-2018 season. —submitted photo

Dans leur seul match de la semaine, les Clarence Castors ont défait les Royals de Bytown par le compte de 5-3 le vendredi 12 janvier. Les Castors de Clarence joueront contre les Bandits de Cumberland le samedi 20 janvier prochain au Complexe récréatif Ray Friel à Orléans.
