Richard Branson once said, “If you look after your people, they’ll look after your customers. It’s that simple.” At Project One, our people are the secret to our success, and we are serious about providing them with the best environment to succeed, and in turn, they help our customers to thrive.

he capability and experience of our people has been a constant differentiator in our marketplace, and with our customers, for the last 20 years. In today’s increasingly competitive market, this is even more important. To attract and retain the best people, it is vital we provide the best working environment for them. We are committed to making grown-up, sensible and well-thought through decisions to invest in our people, allowing them to flourish within the business and, in turn, deliver outstanding value for our customers. A core component of creating this outstanding working environment is having an exceptional proposition for our people. Director of People, Paul Clark and HR Director, Mahmood Ghaznavi, have set out to enhance our People Proposition in 2018 and it will continue to be a theme as we implement our new Target Operating Model over the coming months.

A People Proposition is a combination of all the different elements of the relationship that exists between an organisation and its people. It reflects the tangible elements of that relationship - benefits, learning and reward - and those elements that are harder to quantify or measure - how people are involved in the development of the business, communication within an organisation, and how people feel about their relationship with their colleagues. It defines an organisation’s culture, sets expectations and celebrates success.

Too often, the senior management group in an

organisation decides what should form the People Proposition and almost imposes it. At Project One, we have made a conscious effort to actively engage with our whole team to help shape what we offer and ensure it works for them. Our 2018 annual summer event provided the opportunity for the team to help in defining our future, as they pitched new ideas for our People Proposition, as well as other areas of the business, such as, business development, building multiple senior relationships and improving customer delivery.
