looking after our people

PROJECT ONE

What progress have we made to date? We are delighted to have made such significant and well-received enhancements to our proposition already this year. We have extended the scope of our health cover for our people, increasing the range of services and support that they, and their families, can access. Good leadership skills are critical in any organisation, but particularly for us given our focus on our People Proposition and ambitious growth plans. Investing in specialist coaching and development for our Leadership Team was an easy decision for us to make, and it will continue through the remainder of this year and in to 2019. Recognising the importance of supporting the society we work in has also been paramount in our thinking. We have actively supported causes important to our people and have donated over £7,000, to charity so far, this year. This included raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, Shelter and Macmillan, by entering a team in the Great Manchester Run. This is all merely the start of a continued effort to be a better and stronger business. What’s next? Despite the progress we’ve made there is a great deal to do and, in reality, the work will never finish. As we grow and develop as a business, we must commit to a continual improvement of the environment in which all our people can thrive; it will become part of our everyday thinking and actions. As Paul Clark said in his opening address at the Project One annual summer event, “We are committed to creating an even more outstanding place to work… one in which all our people are invested on the success of our business. An outstanding working environment will mean different things to different people, so continued engagement with our team is critical to its success. We are excited to see where the collaboration will lead as we continue this important journey.”

This collaboration has identified four key areas to focus on within the People Proposition: 1. Expectations and Engagement: making sure every person in Project One knows what is expected from them, and from each other. Every member of the team plays a key part in contributing to the success of the business and creating the right working environment for everyone. 2. Reward and Benefits: recognising the contribution we each make to the business, balancing individual contribution with the desire to foster collaboration. Giving people access to benefits which reflect how they work, for example, on-line GP facilities and national hospital access is an important part of the health cover for our Consulting Team when they are working away from home. 3. Learning: creating a framework where people can access learning on their terms, in their time and which is relevant to where they are in their careers. 4. Recognition: how we say thank you. Creating consultant communities when people are working away from home, but in the same region as others, enabling them to spend time together to share ideas, and see a friendly face! Supporting personal charitable events and challenges as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

“We are committed to creating an even more outstanding place to work… one in which all our people are invested in the success of our business” Paul Clark
