People DHL taps 3 for leadership roles DHL Supply Chain recently named Jim Monkmeyer global head of LLP and sup- ply chain orchestration, Adam Ruff presi- dent of transportation for North America and Dave Moss head of real estate solu- tions for North America. Monkmeyer most recently was presi- dent of transportation for DHL Supply Chain North America and joined the com- pany in 2016 after serving as vice presi- dent of supply chain management at En- gland Logistics. Ruff, who joined DHL Supply Chain in 2010, most recently was vice president of strategy, product devel- opment and M&A after earlier serving as vice president of business development at Schneider Logistics. Moss most recently was chief financial officer for DHL Supply Chain Latin America. The company said the appointments support its Strategy 2X30 growth plan.
Ryder System earns 2 workplace honors Ryder System was recognized by News- week as one of America’s Greatest Work- places for 2026 and separately earned a 3 Star Employer designation from Vets Indexes. The Newsweek honor marks the third consecutive year Ryder has made the list. The rankings, produced with Plant-A In- sights Group, were based on input from nearly 580,000 employees and analysis of more than 7.7 million company reviews, according to the company. Vets Indexes recognized Ryder for its support of veterans, members of the Na- tional Guard and Reserves, and military spouses. Ryder said it has hired nearly 18,000 veterans since joining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our He- roes program in 2011. Its veteran-focused efforts include a buddy program for new employees and participation in Pathway Home, a 12-week diesel technician train- ing program. Rush purchases 5 Louisiana dealerships Rush Enterprises acquired certain as- sets of Peterbilt of Louisiana, adding deal- erships, service capacity and parts space across five South Louisiana markets, Rush said June 30. The deal brings five full-service Peterbilt dealership locations, one collision center and one PacLease operation into the Rush Truck Centers network. The locations, now operating as Rush Truck Centers and Rush Truck Leasing, are in Baton Rouge, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans. Rush said the acquisition adds 46 ser- vice bays, more than 23,000 square feet of parts storage and about 107,000 square feet of facility space. Rush also said the deal expands its ability to provide commercial vehicle sales, service, parts, collision repair and leasing support for regional and national fleet cus- tomers along the Gulf Coast.
Orange EV sends 2,000th truck to Coke
celebrates USA’s 250th Kenworth Truck Co. revived its mid- 1990s TourAmerica T600 paint scheme for sleeper models, and Peterbilt Motors Co. offered a Freedom 250 Special Edi- tion Model 589 limited to 250 units. Pa- cLease added red, white and blue Free- dom 250 graphics to rental box trucks and day cabs. Mack Trucks unveiled an America 250 tribute Pioneer with an eagle-and-flag wrap, added a patriotic option to its online Truck Builder and wrapped three Mack Pioneer models for the "NASCAR Salutes" campaign. And XPO rolled out American flag-in- spired trailers built at its Searcy, Ark., fa- cility; New World Van Lines wrapped two trailers and two straight trucks, recalling a similar effort in 1976; and A.N. Webber in- troduced the Liberty Truck, a 2027 Volvo VNL860 with historical imagery.
Orange EV marked delivery of its 2,000th electric terminal truck with a de- ployment to Coca-Cola Canada Bottling in June, expanding the beverage company’s use of electric yard trucks in British Co- lumbia and Quebec. The company said its electric terminal trucks have logged more than 12 million key- on hours and 33 million miles across more than 370 fleets. Orange EV said the trucks are operating in more than 41 U.S. states, four Canadian provinces and the Caribbean and noted the trucks have averaged about 97% uptime, a figure the company cited as important for fleets using yard trucks in high-volume logistics operations. Relatedly, Coke Canada Bottling named Orange EV one of its 2025 Supplier Part- ner Award winners at the company’s an- nual Supplier Partner Forum in the spring. Pedigree to open $7.9M dealership in Mo. Pedigree Truck and Trailer Sales will open a $7.9 million, 11,887-square-foot flagship dealership in early October in Springfield, Mo., the company said in June. The new facility at 2705 E. Diamond St. will replace Pedigree’s operations at 2700 N. Packer Road and will be the first pur- pose-built facility in the company’s history. Pedigree is the exclusive dealer for Prime Inc.’s used fleet of commercial trucks and trailers. The building will include a two-bay in- door showroom, customer consultation areas and an in-house finance center. The company also said the site will include a driver lounge with entertainment, de- vice-charging stations, refreshments, showers and a merchandise area. The property will have 107 truck and trailer display spaces outside.
Hartmann becomes CEO of UniGroup
UniGroup named John Hartmann CEO, effective July 13, succeeding Kevin Krakora after a planned two-year engagement fo- cused on improving the transportation and relocation services company’s financ- es and shareholder confidence. Hartmann has more than 20 years of executive leadership experience across retail, distribution and service business- es, including CEO roles at Ascend Well- ness, True Value Co. and Mitre 10. He also served as chief operating officer of Bed Bath & Beyond and president of buy- buy Baby and held senior posts at HD Supply, The Home Depot and Cardinal Health. UniGroup, the parent of United Van Lines, Mayflower Transit and Uni- Group Logistics.
