The department was created in October 2022 and brings together the following areas: Residential Services, Conferencing. Food and Drink, Sports, Nursery and Car Parking During the next five-year plan, we will lead on an exciting programme of development and change and invest in all essential areas. This will incrementally transform the campus services and the portfolio in a way that creates a thriving campus for students, staff and the community to dwell and help creates spaces that will create real world experiences that is fit for the future. • Evaluate every area within the department to create efficiencies, increase collaboration, innovation and creativity reduce insufficiencies. • Build a culture and ways of working which support a single, integrated department that is commercially focused and agile, whilst focusing on the customer experience and requirements • Reshape and develop our skills enabling us to increase capacity in line with university growth plans, and better meet demand. • Shape and transform the business and operating models into lean, agile, and efficient critical function within the university, whilst ensuring continuous improvement, working effectively and flexibly to consistently deliver best in class service. • Examine our sourcing arrangements and seek to achieve better value from our supply chain, renegotiate contracts and continuously challenging the standards. • Demonstrate value for money and positive customer experience. ESTATES AND FACILITIES

Our Estates and Facilities team lead the development of our campus, creating engaging and innovative learning, working and living environments for colleagues, students, and partners. The Directorate has over 300 employees and works with a wide range of external contractors. The services arm of the Directorate is responsible for delivering full estates and facilities management to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping. Covering 33 buildings across the estate, split currently across 5 sites. Led by the Estates and Facilities team, the University is undergoing a transformation to deliver its Campus Masterplan. Together with Salford City Council and The English Cities Fund, there will be an investment of £2.5bn over the next 20-years, as part of the Crescent regeneration programme. This investment will transform our campus and create a new city district that will bring together industry, education and innovation, providing new spaces for teaching, innovation, commercial, residential, green space and sustainable travel. 300 Colleagues 33 Buildings across the estate 5 Sites

JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE TITLE: Project Manager, Campus Services

budget estimations and implementation plans. • Assisting with the coordination, underlying analysis and production of accurate data driven and high-quality reports, analysis of risks and issues, dependencies and assumptions, communications, change control, workstream plans and finances. • Proactively track the performance of the project (risks, issues, time, quality, costs) and provide accurate and high-quality management reports detailing this information within agreed deadlines. • Review, update and maintain project related policies, procedures, and project methodologies. • Collate, review, and analyse project related information, making recommendations as to required action and when appropriate to implement agreed actions. • Help organise a programme of workshops to improve outputs and impact cases based on existing knowledge. • Support the Head of Campus Services with resourcing of projects and teams as they develop • Develop and maintain partnerships with third parties including vendors and partners.

• Work with colleagues across the business both professional services and academics. • Comply with the personal health and safety responsibilities specified in the University Health and Safety policy. • To engage with the University’s commitment to put our students first and deliver services which are customer orientated, represent value for money and contribute to the financial and environmental sustainability of the University when undertaking all duties and aspects of the role. • Promote equality and diversity for students and staff and sustain an inclusive and supportive study and work environment in accordance with university policy. • This role detail is a guide to the work you will initially be required to undertake. REPORTS TO: Head of Campus Services

ABOUT The university is about to commence an exciting new chapter to change the way Campus Services are delivered to its customers. This brand-new position will provide project management of its ambitious programme of change and deliver key projects within the department. The Campus Services function is a strategic and outward looking team overseeing the delivery of commercial services comprising: Catering and Hospitality, Conferences, Residential Services, Sports Centre, Car Parking and Nursery. Over the next 2 years campus services will deliver: • A change in the way food and drink is provided on and off the campus to all customers. • The development of an ambitious sports and physical activity strategy.

The Project Manager will proactively manage these key projects and support the development of business and improvement plans.

ROLE PURPOSE At the University of Salford, we take pride in continuous evolution and the role of the project manager within campus services will support this, ensuring that plans are overseen and the over goals of all projects are delivered.
