• Manage and co-ordinate responses for Freedom of Information requests and Data Protection issues in liaison with the University’s Information Governance Manager. • Lead on the development of Business Continuity processes and systems for the Estates and Development Directorate, regularly reviewing and updating the processes as appropriate. • Collaborate with respective Heads and their team in the regular review of all Directorate policies, local rules and operating procedures. • Liaise with other Heads to develop and continuously improve systems with specific relevance to the University estate. • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Directorate’s strategy by proposing developments that will help achieve the Directorate’s objectives. Finance • Provide support and management information to the Leadership and Senior Management Teams in budget management and variance reporting • Ensure compliance with the University’s financial regulations. • Liaise with the Leadership and Senior Management teams to co-ordinate development of the annual budget and 5 Year Plans and production of supporting documentation, including variance reports, during the budget setting process. • Liaise with the Associate Director (Strategy & Capital projects) and Senior Management Team and manage the production of the 5 year and annual backlog maintenance budget. Team Work • Work closely with the respective Heads of Service to develop efficient business processes that support them to deliver in their areas of responsibility. • Take a lead role as part of the Estates and Development (E&D) Directorate Senior Management Team. • Work collaboratively as a member of the strategy and capital projects team, contributing to the development and delivery of the associated work streams.

Communication / Documentation • Communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences. • Liaise, establish and maintain positive links with external agencies and providers.

Supervision / Staffing. • Lead, manage and develop the Planning & Compliance Team.

Personal Development / Performance • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing Personal/Professional Development. • Ability to observe and define priorities and timetables in the achievement of strategic and operational objectives. • Adhere to the University’s environmental policy and procedures and seek to promote environmental sustainability within area of responsibility. Equality, Diversity, Health and Safety and Strategy • To work with the Leadership and Senior Management team to ensure the Directorate’s adherence and compliance with key University Health & Safety policies, particularly relating Safety Planning, Safety Sampling, Safety Monitoring, Risk Assessments, Risk Registers and legislative compliance. • Act as the key co-ordinator for disability, equality and accessibility issues and represent the Directorate on the University wide staff and student committees as required.
