Grilling with Jeff: Brats, Peppers & Onions in Beer by Jeff Karas, Engineering Electrician

It seems spring is just around the corner, and a lot of projects have been piling up. so for a nice easy meal, slow cooker Brats, Peppers and Onions in Beer. Ingredients: 2 packages of brats 1 large red pepper (seeded & sliced) 1 large green pepper (seeded & sliced) 1 large onion (sliced) 2 tablespoons of butter 2 bottles of beer (dark beer works great, but you can also use any in the fridge that no one wants to drink) Hot dog buns Directions: In a large skillet over medium-high heat melt butter. Add peppers and onions and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the peppers and onions are tender. Set them aside. Using the same skillet, cook the brats 3 minutes on each side or until brown (or you can cook them on the grill, my preference, of course). Now put peppers, onions and brats in your Crockpot or slow cooker and add just enough beer to cover the sausages, and drink the rest. Cover and cook on high for 1-1 1/2 hours or low for 2-3 hours. When done nestle the brats in the buns and spoon on the peppers and onions. Enjoy.
