Walking Club Is Back! The 2018 Walking Club Season is right around the corner! This year, all donations raised by the club will be do- nated to Sinnissippi Centers, which is a community based behavioral healthcare center that provides care and ser- vices to Carroll, Lee, Ogle and White Counties. The donation from Crest will help support the Recovery Home that they hope to open in Dixon soon. Our first event is going to be the Make-A-Wish 5k on May 19th in Dixon. We will participate in 7 local 5k’s throughout the next few months, and for every employee that walks or runs, Crest will put $20 in a fund to be donated at the end of the season. Please consider joining us this year! 2013 In 2013, we revived the Crest Foods Walking Club and named it Team Yo in memory of Yolanda Sigler, former employee and fitness enthusist. Originally created for employees to get out and exercise together, it evolved into a way for employees to also give back to the community. It was decided that for every person who shows up to participate in event, Crest Foods would put $20 into a fund, which would be donated to charity at the end of the season. 2014
2014 brought the introduction of the Corporate Challenge. While we had plenty of employees who walked the 5K’s, we had a num- ber of employees who were competitively running in the races. We decided to give them a challenge: If we won the race’s Corporate Challenge, Crest Foods would put an extra $1000 into the fund that we were donating to charity at the end of the season. Runners were up for the challenge and ended up winning 2 that year! Charity: Home of Hope (Dixon)
