The Sandhill Cranes - The North and South Platte Rivers join twomiles East ofNorth Platte thus creating the Platte River. Christmas Village Drive Thru at the Historical Museum - Each December local individuals, organizations, and businesses adopt a portion of the Lincoln County Historical Museum and decorate the grounds with thousands of lights and other holiday décor. Christmas at the Cody’s - Buf falo Bills magnificent mansion is decorated for the holidays and open to the public during the Christmas season each year. More than 20 trees decorated by the staf f of the Buf falo Bill State Historic Park and area non-profit organizations fill every room and public space. North Platte Rail Days An annual event celebrating the past, present, and future of railroading in the North Platte community. This multi day event happens each Fall and features a variety of events throughout the community that is a highlight for any train enthusiast.

Lake Maloney Golf Club was an eighteen hole sand green tract until the early 90’s when the members rebuilt and converted the greens to grass. The result is a challenging regulation course. The rolling terrain of fers few level lies, sand and trees can get in the way on several holes. The most difficult hole is the par 4 thirteenth. Not only is it appropriately numbered, it is long, uphill, and plays into the prevailing wind. When you finally arrive at the green you are rewarded with a view of the lake and a cool breeze of f of the water. Some of these water masses include: Lake Maloney, Jef fery Lake, Sutherland Reservoir, many interstate lakes as well as the North and South Plat te Rivers.
