When is the last time you connected with a group of friends outside of a scheduled work or family function? What has happened to spontaneous gatherings? Do you find yourself texting your contacts rather than chatting on the phone? Do you find yourself talking to customer service robots more often than a human? We are wired for human connection, and we are living in a world that is optimized and wired for the connection of technology. This is causing devastating effects on our health and vitality. We will discuss the importance of human connection as it relates to our health and what we are doing to meet our needs of basic human connection that is negatively impacting our performance. Attendees will be provided with easy to implement strategies to reduce the effects of technology on their health, and ideas to create more meaningful opportunities to connect to optimize their vitality.

Dr. Amanda A. Carpenter, PT, CProT, CEAS is a human perfor - mance expert with over 20 years of experience working in health care assisting people in reclaiming and maximize their health and vitality. She has both a doctorate and MS in physical ther - apy as well as a BS in health science, as well as certifications in professional training, ergonomic assessment, health coaching, and transformational leadership. Dr. Carpenter is an expert in the science and practice of biomechanics and ergonomics, working

with industrial athletes and families to improve their health and vitality. She is an internationally recognized lecturer for the arboriculture industry, leading programs to optimize the health, productivity, and safety of industrial athletes and their fam - ilies. She is the owner of Carpenter Physical Therapy, the owner and foundational health educator for COR Health Solutions, and the founder of the Leadership Per - formance Mastery Program. She has had the opportunity to work with thousands of injured athletes and workers and uses these experiences in her coaching and teaching.
