Creating a Holding Nursery to Resolve and Improve Root Structure Tuesday, October 4, 2022 | 11:20 am to 12:20 pm (1 CEU) Presenter: Jeff Perry Location: Bay 6 This program will demonstrate how to create and maintain a holding nursery to help resolve and improve root structure of container and B&B nursery stock prior to planting trees in the field.

Jeff Perry has worked for City of Spokane’s Urban Forestry Divi - sion for the past 24 years. Working in arboriculture from a munic - ipal angle has given Jeff the exposure to all aspects of tree care from performing the varied field tasks to managing large projects that affect our urban forest for the long haul. Jeff has been integral in helping develop the City of Spokane’s protocols for manage - ment of trees during construction, specifications for planting trees and shrubs, as well as maintaining and managing an in-depth tree

inventory of over 90,000 trees and working with GIS on a daily basis. Jeff has participated and led many training courses for the City of Spokane, Spokane Com - munity Colleges, the ISA, and privately, in regards to proper tree care, safety and ethics related to the tree care industry. Jeff also has developed and managed a holding nursery for the City of Spokane for the last 18 years which has led to many interesting observations about tree planting, root development, environmental re - lationships and many other fascinating things.
