R exel UK supplied the main lighting for both the original Ewart Building and the newly built 16-floor tower extension. Working with suppliers such as Thorn Lighting and Zumbotel, the company provided solutions to meet the prestigious project’s design and specification requirements. The main products supplied were Zumbotel recessed and surface spotlights, Thorn IQ Beam panels, Thorn Chalice downlights, and Thorn Voyager emergency fittings. With a total stock value of £2.5 million in its local branches in Belfast and Coleraine, supplying all required products wasn’t an issue for Rexel UK. Planning and logistics were also key elements in this project, as it required deliveries even twice a day, in the morning and the afternoon, to meet deadlines. Rexel’s Sales Team Leader Mark Stewart has maintained a great working relationship over the years with Steven Magill, Contract Manager at Antrim Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (AEM), and this also helped the project run like
clockwork. “We worked closely with AEM to make sure everything ran smoothly, and now it looks the part,” commented branch manager Andy Oldcroft. “It was plain sailing and very well- organised from start to finish.
