there will be water games for the children. There will be live music on stage starting at 8 p.m., with an amazing fireworks show at 10:15 p.m. The L’Orignal volunteer firefighters invite the public to a Canada Day celebration and 50 th anniversary of the Canadian flag at the municipal park at 772 Front Road West. The day begins at noon with a barbecue, inflatable structures, and water slide. From1 p.m. to 4 p.m., kids can get their face painted. Two guided tours of the fire trucks will be available at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., and there will be cake and cupcakes at 6 p.m. Live music shows begin at 7:15 p.m. followed by fireworks at 10:15 p.m.. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be offered, compliments of the L’Orignal Knights of Columbus. Alexandria will be celebrating Canada Day fromnoon to 10 p.m. in Island Park with family, food, friends, fun, and of course fireworks. Activities include pony rides, inflatable games, a petting zoo, charity bingo, live music and lots more. St-Eugène will be celebrating Canada Day with a family day at St-Eugène Park with plenty of activities and fireworks at 10 p.m. Many other municipalities in the area will also be celebrating Canada Day on Wednesday with plenty of fun for the entire family.

Canada’s 148th birthday is going to be celebrated in a big way across our region. FromHawkesbury to L’Orignal, Alexandria, and St-Eugène, there are parties happening all over to celebrate the biggest of birthday parties. Canada became a new federation on July 1 st , 1867, with its own constitution. By signing the Constitution Act, formerly known as the British North America Act, Canada was officially born. Now, almost 150 years later, Canadians far and wide celebrate this important birthday. Hawkesbury has a full day of fun events scheduled at Confederation Park. The morning starts off with a brunch, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Golden Age Club, 421A Cartier Boulevard, and a petanque tournament at 9:30 a.m.The official opening ceremony and flag raising will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, 152 Nelson Street, at 10 a.m. From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be inflatable games for the kids and face painting from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Various food concessions and kiosks will be available throughout the day, and the Canada Day cake will be served at 1 p.m. Line dancing with Yvon Cayen will be going on from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and from 1 p.m.
