Founded Northwestern Bible School in 1902 to train young people with a sound knowledge of the Word of God and equip them for service at home and abroad. In 1935 he founded Northwestern Seminary to better prepare men for the Christian ministry. In 1943 he founded the College of Liberal Arts to provide a Christ-centered curriculum.

The unanimous choice of the Board of Direc­ tors and of Dr. W. B. Riley to head the greater Northwestern Schools, he exemplifies to . the full Northwestern's slogan, "Knowledge on Fire."
