THE K I NG ' S BUS I NE S S her children, came in great distress. The lawyers advised court action, but we advised putting the matter into the hands of the Lord. She consented, and after earnest prayer, went out and al most immediately found a room and is now resting in the Lord for comfort and strength in her old age, happy in the love of Jesus Christ and sure of sym pathy at the Club. Several of the churches are appeal ing to us for help along Bible lines, and one promising young man has applied for admission as a student in the Bible Institute in order to prepare himself for definite missionary work. Several parties, also, have been able to find work as a direct result of the prayers and efforts of the Biola workers. We ask the prayers of all God’s peo ple for this most blessed work. to lead others to Christ, and in order to do this, he began attending a class for personal workers. One night the question of a full surrender of all worldly things by members of the class,, that they might be used of God in win-: ning souls, was under discussion when the now thoroughly awakened man vol untarily surrendered his cigarette to the Lord that he might become a soul winner. He now occupies prominent positions in the church and is doing personal work among the men with whom he works. Shall we call it strange that a surrender so made to God brought none of the anticipated suffering, and that he has steadily gained in health, both spiritual and physical? The woman listened and when I finished, she was in tears. She invited me to call again, but the next morning her husband was gone. How I rejoiced that I had had the privilege of giving him the messageLof salvation and may we not trust that it found a response in his heart, even though he was unable to put it into words. An Old Lady Helped A woman about 75 years old, who had been robbed of home and possessions by young married woman, whose husband was a backslider, has been brought'to the Lord in one of the: Bible classes, and through her influence the husband was brought back to: the Lord. The hus band had been a smoker from the time he was a very small boy, and just a short time before this, he had declared that nothing would induce him to go through the suffering entailed in giving up the use of tobacco. But as he came back to the Lord he said he noticed that he felt uncomfortable if he met certain Christians while smoking, and then the Spirit brought home to him the thought, “ If you feel uncomfortable at having people see you smoking, how about God seeing you?” In the meantime his love for the Lord had grown and he desired jOMETIMBS the Bible classes reach, not only the women in the classes, but the husbands who never attend them.
