THEMES FOR THE NORTHEAST These themes are the guiding elements that encapsulate the vision and goals of the Northeast Community Plan. The following four themes emerged from the existing conditions analysis, community feedback and participation, and review of existing plans:
ORGANIZATION OF THEMES Specific strategies and actions are derived from the four themes as described in the diagram below. • Strategies are the broad policies for implementing the themes and goals of the plan. • Actions outline the steps needed to implement these strategies, themes, and goals.
The themes Preserve + Protect and Flourish serve as the foundation of the Opportunities framework. Connect and Partner serve as the connective tissue between the two foundational themes.
The following pages showcase the four themes and their corresponding strategies. Each theme is supported by opportunities diagrams.
