21 Perform a thorough analysis of utility infrastructure systems within the study area - including broadband network coverage. The analysis should be used to update the list of needed improvements in the study area, which may be carried out through the Town’s Capital Improvements Plan or through coordination with utility agencies. 22 Implement the proposed bicycle, pedestrian, greenways, multiuse paths, roadway, and connectivity facilities outlined in the 2019 Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP - updated 2021). 23 Conduct an ADA audit of existing bike and pedestrian facilities within the study area to ensure ADA compliance.

31 Investigate the viability of adding a transit route to / from points north of the study area (i.e. Flaherty Park, Youngsville, etc.).

33 Encourage the redevelopment of the W.E.B. DuBois School Campus to include uses and programming that benefit both the Alumni Association and surrounding neighborhood. 34 Work with local community organizations (such as NECC, places of worship, Alumni Association, etc.) to understand needs and requirements for existing community celebrations, as well as identify additional opportunities for new community celebrations. As part of this effort, identify funding sources and collaborative partners to launch new community events. 35 Strengthen existing job training and mentorship programs that can be or are provided through local organizations in Wake Forest. Provide additional opportunities as new skills are needed. Enact additional job readiness programs, directed at younger and older residents, to help individuals transition into new jobs. 36 Work with local organizations to identify and implement youth programming such as mentoring, after school programs, daily homework initiatives, summer youth programs, recreation activities, etc. 37 Work with local organizations and religious institutions to identify and implement child care programming to help support working families in the Northeast Community. 38 Work with local organizations to identify senior programming opportunities and topics such as health care, nutrition, exercise, home repair and community well-being. 39 Identify local funding sources and locations that could host youth and senior programming activities.

25 Consider opportunities to reduce speeding along neighborhood roadways. Interventions could include traffic calming installations, on-street parking to buffer pedestrians from automotive lanes and deter speeding, and warning signage at specific locations to deter cut-through traffic. 26 Explore creation of community gateway improvements at key intersections including identifying signage (i.e. “Northeast Community). Such gateway improvements may include landscaping, public art, signage, lighting, etc. 27 Explore opportunities to provide spaces and programming options for the installation of public art, specifically at activity centers in and around the community.
