ORGANIZATION Rhino Tool House Marathon City, Wis. TITLE Sales Engineer Intern
What I did: • Cold call manufacturing companies to try and get a chance to tour their facility • Demo hoists and other material handling equipment to several big-time customers • Conduct meetings to sell our company products and the services we provide. • Find solutions for companies to save money, to make a safer environment, and introduce the most revolutionary products on the market • Prospect for customers and research the market to see the right fit in the products we provide What I liked: My job as a sales engineer intern gave me a chance to learn so much about the world of manufacturing. I have been blessed to see amazing plants that produce things by the thousands and even millions. The main duties I liked were: 1) I got to travel and see different parts of the state, facilities, and build relationships with many different people. The people I see and conduct sales meetings with were all upper-level management such as plant managers, engineering managers, and safety managers. 2) The experience I got while in the field. During a regular work week, I was on the road going to different plants 3-4 days out of the week. I was coached and influenced by several great people within this organization. They made time for me when I needed help and corrected me when I am wrong. The leadership that I was given was second-to-none. Future Dream Job: As a kid I have always had a dream job, whether that be to go to the NFL or be a superstar as all kids have. Obviously, those dreams are a bit far fetched but as of right now I do not think I have a dream job. My dream is to succeed in a career that gives me the tools to be successful. I love my job as an intern here at Rhino Tool House and sales is certainly something I want to further in. As for my dream job, I feel as if the job title is not that important to fulfill my dreams. I have dreams of becoming successful and that starts with achieving my dream to become a great student. From this internship I got to see what I really like and that puts me one step closer to finding my dream job.
