C’est dans le cadre d’une cérémonie qui s’est tenue à la Caisse populaire Trillium de Limoges, la semaine dernière, que l’Association Richelieu International a reçu une somme de 5000$ des mains de l’athlète olympique, Geneviève Lacasse, gardien de but de l’équipe féminine de hockey sur glace qui a remporté
la médaille d’or à Sochi, en Russie, et qui a choisi cet organisme qui vient en aide aux jeunes dans différentes sphères d’activités. Geneviève Lacasse (au centre) était en compagnie de Stéphane Trottier, administrateur à la Caisse populaire, de Pierre Benoit, président de la Caisse populaire, de Denis Daigle, de l’Association Richelieu International, et de Normand Leroux, directeur de la Caisse populaire.

Members of the Armoured Company of the Sword demonstrated chivalrous swordhandling in the parking lot of the Russell House Pub as part of Russell Heritage Day on October 4. The company makes and wears medieval armour to do sword- based historical combat. They fight to a decision and let the crowd choose the winner. The display was the initiative of Edna Robertson and reflects her British heritage. More information on the art of the sword is available at www.armouredswords.ca.
