The Atom A Russell Warriors hockey team held a seasonally appropriate fundraiser on Friday October 3 and Sunday, October 5 in Russell. The team members were out on Concession Street, calling to motorists to buy pumpkins from them. For another chance to help the team, save your bottles, as they will be going door-to-door in a bottle drive the weekend of October 17-19. Edwards OL presents funds to WDMH
On Saturday, August 24, the Edwards Orange Lodge on Mitch Owens Road marked the 100th anniversary of the building of the hall. Throughout the afternoon, visitors to the recently renovated lodge building enjoyed a history lesson including pho- tographic displays, artifacts, period maps, and a 30-minute documentary by Ryan Campbell, Worshipful Deputy Master, depicting the history, members and their contribution to the local community. A highlight of the afternoon was the pres- entation of this year’s Dimes for Dialysis funds to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) Foundation totalling over $500. These funds are raised through the collection of dimes at weekly euchre parties held at the hall. (CV)
