responsibility it is to educate the youth, parents or schools. In Every state it is not federally mandated for what they are to teach for sex education. Each state created their own set of standards of what is taught in that specific state. This creates issues due to the lack of ability and knowledge that is available for everyone. By examining the medically accurate information, age appropriate information, and the inclusiveness of sex education in society, it is possible to fully educate all ages of the appropriate and indepth knowledge about sex. The focus on how important it is to establish a shared set of standards in order to have more access to sex education. Hailey Miller - “Rabies” (session 5) Rabies is a fatal, but preventable infectious disease. This disease affects the central nervous system, which means it is highly associated with aspects of the brain. If a person does not get the correct treatment right away after a suspected transmission, it can become very serious as it causes an infection in the brain, which most of the time results in death. I have done a thorough research and studied the subject by looking at different websites like the CDC and gathering useful information. I have learned that it is important to stay away from wild animals as they have the highest risk of rabies, and to take precautions around animals on your streets as well. Dušan Milošević - “Carbon and its Allotropes” (session 15) Napoleon’s Buttons is a book that talked about 17 crucial elements that changed the world but they couldn’t get everything involved there. One of the many things they didn’t give enough attention to is carbon, even though we mentioned it a bit. Carbon has certain allotropes that are important for the human history and present but we don’t even realize and care enough about. Diamond is one of them and it’s important in the jewelry industry as one of the rarest, most expensive, and hardest elements that helped us in industries and world development. Diamond blade is the hardest one in the world and can cut through everything. Graphite is important for the pencils and other things that benefited us. I haven’t researched too much about it but I’m sure that I will discover some amazing things as we did with all the 17 groups of molecules we read from the book. It should be an interesting presentation for the audience as well. Dušan Milošević - “Difference Between a College Athlete and a Professional Athlete” (session 7) Difference between a college athlete and a professional athlete is a name of the research about the life of the college athletes on MVC and professional Serbian athletes. I've been doing my research on the food, practice and sleeping habits that both of them have and wanted to compare everything and show awareness to people of the huge differences we don't notice but are there and fail to help our college athletes to keep playing professionally after college. Tyra Montano, “Effective Coping Mechanism Use for Burnout Prevention” (session 16) In the last few years there has been a significant increase in nursing demands. Nurses have felt forced to relocate to less stressful areas or leave the field entirely. Facilities are offering differentials and bonuses to try to keep nurses motivated in working with large patient loads. The nursing shortage can cause a stressful work environment, which can ultimately lead to nurse burnout. The purpose of this educational module is to identify effective coping mechanisms to manage stress and prevent burnout. The goal was to encourage nursing to find a healthy way to cope during this time of high demand.
