next level, Lionel must decide to put his foot down and walk away or stay the bully that once made his life miserable. Dajah Robinson - “Let’s Talk about Sex WORK” (session 9) This presentation will discuss attitudes surrounding prostitution. Specifically, comparing research surrounding prostitution in places that it is legal versus places where it is illegal. In places where prostitution is legal, research reflects the benifits like finance and safety of prostitution. In places where prostitution is illegal, more of the research coming out of said area exploits the negative stigmas that surround prostitution like sickness and filth. With all this being said, I am arguing why sex workers should have access to health care removing the stigma surrounding it can be beneficial for all involved parties. The main thing that the laws which prohibit prostitution do is prevent safe sex work, in the regard that is not a true profession so healthcare is often unavailable. Larry Rodriguez - Self Defense Scenario (Special Session 9:00-12) Pedro Rodriguez - “Spanish Flu” (poster session) The 1918 influenza pandemic was the most severe pandemic in recent history. It was caused by an H1N1 virus with genes of avian origin, spreading worldwide between 1918 and 1919, infecting and killing millions. It is estimated that about 500 million people or one-third of the world’s population became infected with this virus, and the number of deaths is estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide. Mortality was high in people younger than 5 years old, 20-40 years old, and 65 years and older. The high mortality in healthy people, including those in the 20-40 year age group, was a unique feature of this pandemic. Most of the times the incubation period for this disease ranged between 2-7 days until the symptoms started showing, which include a sudden, and sometimes very high fever, dry cough, headache, extreme tiredness, loss of appetite... For those who got infected back in the day, still retrained the immunity for the virus for many more years, since in those years to develop a useful vaccine to protect the population in less than 1/2 years was almost impossible, one of the reasons why so many people died. With all this info I will design the poster. Paula Romero Rodriguez - “Graphite: The Hidden Piece of Chernobyl” (session 15) Graphite is a natural crystalline form of carbon. It has multiple common uses, but what most people are not aware of is that it played a determining role in the Chernobyl catastrophe back in 1986. On April 26th of that year, the Unit 4 reactor from the nuclear plant exploded, causing the biggest nuclear accident in history. In this research, we will be looking into graphite and its properties, relating to the role of it in nuclear reactors and, more specifically, in the core of the nuclear reactor that exploded in Chernobyl. We will be walking through the Chernobyl accident

and all the situations and reactions that graphite took part in. Benjamin Rumanyila - “Black Worship” (session 13)

I am writing about the different ways that black people practice the three religions we have been learning about in class. I want to dive into their traditions and the ways they worship in each religion's individual sects. For example, a southern baptist church’s way of worship differs from that of the catholic church. I would also like to take a look into how black people are portrayed in
