Stop Negative Pathogens from Aggravating Rosacea

Pathogens are a variety of different organisms like bacteria, viruses and parasites, many are living on our skin and make up part of our microbiome. While a healthy microbiome has a balance of pathogens, certain skin conditions including rosacea may not. Studies have shown an increase in demodex mites on Rosacea Skin. Not sure if this is due to the inflammation and barrier breakdown rosacea causes on the skin or if the demodex mites are causing the inflammation and barrier breakdown. Kind of like which comes first the chicken or the egg. Either way we know an increase in this pathogen wreaks additional havoc and so addressing it can support this skin tremendously.

TYPES OF PATHOGENS

Demodex mites are found on all skins and at a normal level are harmless. Their main role is to remove dead skin cells and reduce oils in our follicles. However, in rosacea skin we see an increased number, three times more, triggering an immune response and further aggravate rosacea.
