The festival opens Thursday evening with a Happy Hour event with Wayne Ca- rini, held June 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Highlands Performing Arts Center’s Martin Lipscomb Theater. Sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Meadows Mountain Realty, the event brings Carini together with Bill Warner, founder of the Amelia Island Concours, and Corky Coker, the 2025 Highlands Motoring Festival Grand Marshal. The evening gives more people ac- cess to the kind of conversation usually reserved for smaller dinners. Saturday’s private dinner with Ca- rini is at Wildcat Cliffs. Thursday’s Happy Hour creates a wider room. Guests do not need to arrive fluent in collector-car language. That is part of the point. A serious enthusiast will
hear details worth remembering. A newcomer can sit close to people who have spent their lives around rare cars and begin to understand why a res- toration, a chassis, a race history, or an owner’s story can matter so much.
