Feel free to call us and ask to speak to your therapist. Your therapist can discuss with you why your pain is bothering you again and what you might do about it at home. If further assessment is warranted, your therapist might recommend you come in for an appointment.

“I know where I want to go for physical therapy rehabilitation.” This response is fromMr. Tony Phillips to his orthopedic surgeon, after his total knee replacement surgery on July 14, 2020. Before having complications with his left knee, Mr. Phillips enjoyed an active lifestyle of recreation. This lifestyle included walking in the park with his 4 teenage children, an activity that he and his children enjoyed tremendously. But, after his knee complications occurred, and the pain progressed, their walks in the park ceased. He was unable to walk up and down the stairs; he could not stand for long periods, and he was unable to drive. His pain had become unbearable. Five years ago, Mr. Phillips received physical therapy services at Atlanta Human Performance Center (AHPC) for his right shoulder. Dr. Evans and the team at AHPC were able to restore his shoulder’s movement. Consequently, after his knee replacement surgery, Mr. Phillips knew exactly where he wanted to receive rehabilitation treatment. Post-surgery, when Mr. Phillips arrived at AHPC, he was using a walker; he was swollen and bruised. He could only bend his knee about 54 degrees. With one month of intensive treatment , Mr. Phillips is on the Road to Recovery ! He has improved immensely; he is now able to walk independently, he can bend his knee 98 degrees, and both Dr. Evans and his orthopedic surgeon have cleared him to drive! Mr. Phillips is now looking forward to relinquishing the pain and restrictions and returning to his active life of recreation. He can’t wait to go for long walks in the park with his kids again! Dr. Evans states, “Mr. Phillips’ strength, balance, and range of motion have all improved.” “Functionally, he is getting back to where he was pre-surgery but we want to get him back to where he was pre- knee pain and that is our next goal!” “Thus far, we’ve decreased inflammation and pain and we’ve increased strength within his range of motion.” “We are now progressing to get him back to an activity level which requires significant range of motion and good strength.” “This level is needed to perform cardiovascular fitness and full-body training.” “Our final goal is to attain a level of agility that will allow a more athletic lifestyle.” Mr. Phillips states, “I would recommend Atlanta Human Performance Center to anyone that needs any type of physical therapy. Dr. Evans is one of the best in his profession - in the entire city ! He is a doctor of physical therapy; he has had his practice for over 30 years - so he has seen just about everything that you can think of! I just think, he is one of the best in his field and he has a staff that reflects that as well. So, I would strongly recommend Atlanta Human Performance Center for any type of your physical therapy and rehabilitation needs.” See Mr. Phillips’ Atlanta Human Performance Center story here: https://youtu.be/UuKWwZeH2To
