Pauline Intven-Casier, Owner and Vice President, introduces, “Located in southwestern Ontario, we offer a wide selection of high-quality plants — from annuals and perennials to trees, shrubs and houseplants — along with gardening supplies, home décor and seasonal items.” Tailored to local climate and growing conditions, the knowledgeable team also offers their expertise through educational oppor- tunities, events and workshops. Pauline, alongside Tom Intven, Owner and President, discuss the admirable longevity of Canadale Nurseries: “From families returning year after year, to gardeners sharing their successes and stories, it became clear that Canadale was more than a business – it was a place that nurtured connections, creativity and a love of gardening. Continuing that tradition felt like both an honour and a natural next step for us.” What started with selling out of a wheelbarrow roadside has flourished into a cherished gem in the community. “At its heart, Canadale Nurseries is a place where people can connect with nature, find inspiration, and enjoy the experience of gardening – whether they’re planting their first container or designing an entire landscape.” “After many rewarding years in the industry, the decision to close Canadale Nurseries in 2027 ultimately comes down to timing and transition,” Pauline and Tom humbly proceed. “As
a family-owned business, it has always been deeply personal. The time is right to step back and enjoy a well-earned retirement, and this decision was not made lightly. Canadale has been a meaningful part of the community for decades, and that connection is something we are incredibly proud of.” As the business progresses through their final seasons, the Canadale Nurseries family strives to celebrate their rich history and ongoing connections within the community. “We hope readers understand that while we are closing, our focus over the wind-down period is on providing the same exceptional service, sharing our love of gardening, and making our final seasons meaningful and celebratory.” The pair continue, “We’re approaching the next two seasons with a sense of gratitude and celebration – honouring the relationships we’ve built, the customers we’ve served, and the role Canadale has played in helping people grow.
