Hometown St.Thomas May 2026

Here comes the sun! by Kim Ariesen, Owner Studio Style May is the month of flowers blooming, warmer days and sunshine. It’s the month of renewed energy and growth, bringing the excitement of summertime fun ahead! And just like the month of May, fashion also brings forth newness, inspiration and fresh energy to its style, colour palettes and combinations. May is the bridge from early spring to summer, showcasing newness in silhouettes, looks and colour choices. Fashion for 2026 is taking centre stage with colour, inspiration from nature and the beauty that surrounds us. Eclectic mixes of floral designs, feminine touches of lace details, stripes, natural fabrics, minimalist styling and classic elements are representative of this season’s collections. Think of the white delicate flowers of lily of the valley, soft lavender tones of lilacs, the many pink/red shades of crab-apple trees, striped parrot tulips, colourful hummingbirds, ice cream colours and pretty things for Mother’s Day are all what’s in store for Spring/ Summer Fashion of 2026!

Spring into Summer with Colour! • Pastel pink, flamingo pink, bubble-gum and orchid pinks • Hydrangea blue, sky blue, vintage blues and denim • Lavender and soft lilac shades • Strawberry coral, melon and poppy reds • Tangerine orange • Marine blues and classic navy • Caribbean aqua, turquoise and spearmint tones • Chartreuse, lime and khaki • Soft white, creams, bright whites and honey coloured tan hues • And of course, black! Styling, patterns and details add character to every outfit. Fashion‘26 blends silhouettes, form and fit from both the 80s and the 90s, highlighting timeless prints and designs, yet they are new, current and modern. THE TURKEY SHOPPE Sweet Ginger Kabobs Perfect for Mother’s Day Don’t forget Turkey Breakfast

The secret to colour and its mixing and matching for 2026 is the level of choice. Elements of design in colour add dimension by using colour theories of monochromatic tones and by contrast, complementary colours of opposite shades. My favourite colour combination is the analogous colour palette of coordinating hues side by side on the colour wheel.
