The Need Help? This student assistance form helps students needing assistance navigating college offices to get their needs met. Students should complete this form if they are experiencing a non-academic concern and are unsure of where to go for assistance. The report goes directly to the Dean of Students’ Office for follow-up; students completing this student assistance form will receive a response within 48 hours from a professional within student affairs/student services. General student concerns and questions about campus procedures are responded to most efficiently once this form is completed and filed. For completion by students only . HCC's Dean of Students serves as Title IX Coordinator for Students (to address sex-based discrimination) and 504/ADA Coordinator (to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities). Students should submit this form for matters regarding Title IX or 504/ADA. The General Grievance Report Form is for use by students who feel that a particular action or series of actions on the part of a HCC employee has violated accepted or stated institutional practices and standards. Students can report concerns regarding ethical and professional behavior of employees, arbitrary application of current College policies by employees, and perceived violations of accepted rights of students. The General Grievance Procedure for Students is outlined in detail in the Student Handbook. Division Office Associate The Administrative Office Associate provides administrative and clerical support to the Division Director, as well as to the full-time and the part-time faculty, while serving as division receptionist. This position also provides assistance to students and others. The Administrative Office Associate reports directly to and is responsible to the Division Director. This position may require the leadership responsibilities for assigned student workers and/or volunteers. The Administrative Office Associate coordinates closely with the Office of Academic Affairs, division faculty, instructional support personnel, and other Division Office Associates in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Learning Support Center Learning Support Center Location: between Kepler Center and STEM Building Phone: 240-500-2560 The Learning Support Center (LSC) is the home of the Tutoring Hub and Writing Center, which provide free academic support to current HCC students by offering individual walk-in tutoring (no appointment needed!), workshops, online tutoring (appointment required), and writing feedback. The LSC building features study space, study materials, and a computer lab. The LSC staff have professional expertise in English and writing, math and science, computer technology, and more.
