In April, key members of our Product, Marketing and Business Development teams headed to the Fire Safety Event at the NEC Birmingham to launch FlameLESS - our groundbreaking Bfl-s1 fire-rated engineered flooring. With fire safety emerging as a critical concern in modern design, FlameLESS has been developed to combine the beauty of natural timber with advanced fire safety performance. Independently tested and certified to meet EN 13501-1 Bfl-s1 classification, this flooring delivers low flame spread (Bfl) and minimal smoke production (s1). This combination ensures not only compliance but also enhanced protection during emergencies, without compromising the wood’s natural character. Visitors to our stand - including industry professionals, fire‑safety experts, architects, and specifiers - were able to experience full size panels of FlameLESS first-hand and speak with our technical product experts. This marked our first time exhibiting at this
leading trade event, and the response to the launch of FlameLESS was overwhelmingly positive. “We’ve launched Flameless to meet the demands of the market,” said Anthony Scott, our Global Product and Innovation Director, “most flooring products or wood flooring products are D class or C class rated at best, but we’ve gone one step further and created a B classification product. The launch of FlameLESS is exciting because it introduces our six Hero colours: Cedro, Fendi, Amazon, Blanco, Quadro and Arena in fire-rated certification. Architects and designers can specify the colours that they love, but in a fully safety compliant product.” This launch underlines our ongoing commitment to innovation and safety. As fire regulations tighten, architects and designers need products that aren’t just compliant, but also beautiful and sustainable.
