Just a short walk from the beautiful Kew Gardens, Pagoda Residential is the latest project in Richmond from interior designers Studio Elephant. Following a complete refurbishment across all three levels including extensive remodelling and a ground floor extension with a landscaped garden, the result is a bright, modern and spacious home. The kitchen and dining area, located in the spectacular new extension, features a steeped glass elevation, cantilevered corner and floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors with stunning views of the garden. The industrial-style steel glazing maximises light throughout the home and creates a unique composition of modern and traditional features. Sustainability was a key element of the brief so installing environmentally conscious materials was vital. Made from FSC-certified timber, Havwoods’ 3-layered engineered Galston flooring from the V Collection was chosen for the living room, office, open-plan kitchen/ diner and utility room. A warm and sandy coloured board, the finish is both classic and contemporary— the ideal choice for this dynamic home. In the kitchen, the planks have been installed to ensure the eye travels down the room towards the garden at the end, where the abundance of natural light helps to highlight the soft knotting and graining of the boards. The same flooring and green cabinetry continue into the matching utility space, while the green theme continues further into the home office area within the living room. The deep teal storage in the office looks striking against the floor, while the Crittal-style internal doors match perfectly with the industrial touches throughout the home.
