RAW MATERIALS

Arendela takes inspiration from briolette, a type of gemstone faceting that was invented in the late 15th century. The briolette cut is a pear-shaped stone that has facets on the entire surface. Typically used as a bead, the faceted stone hangs and catches the light from all sides, and is the inspiration for KOHLER Briolette Artist Editions vessel sink and our Arendela lighting collection. Also available in spun rondelle glass, which takes inpsiration from the murano glass created in the 1960s.

Kohler’s Step trash cans come in various sizes and are equipped with dual or single bins.

Combining a luxurious spray with a best in class high-quality audio speaker by Harman Kardon, the Kohler Moxie showerhead and wireless speaker turns everyday showering into an immersive sensory experience.

Kallista’s Per Se collection is inspired by the clean lines of 1950s and ‘60s design. The clean, modern collection comes in a variety of finishes and styles.

Kohler’s kitchen accessory collection includes a countertop squeegee, paper towel holder, soap dish, and more, designed to organize clutter.

MEET THE DESIGNERS

Yes, I’d love to upgrade my bathtub to the Underscore VibrAcoustic with Heat- ed BubbleMassage. This tub is amaz- ing! I love music, and the VibrAcoustic technology from this tub emits sound waves and offers an amazing surround sound experience. Not to mention the 122 air jets with variable speed. #LOVEit Can you share a trend or something going on in the world of design that fascinates you? What I’m seeing a lot of is patterned tiles in the bathroom being used either on the floor or wall to make a state- ment, along with the mixing of metals in the kitchen. Who’s a historically-important figure you’d like to meet? I’d love to meet Vice President Kamala Harris. What can I say? She represents girl power to the fullest by being the highest-ranking female official in United States history—not to mention the first female VP of African American and South Asian descent. Marvelous. #GirlPOWER

My favorite design projects are smaller space projects because they tend to be more challenging. In a larger space, especially a kitchen, it’s easier to design. But when the space is limited, it chal- lenges you to focus on how to make the space more functionally effective and aesthetically pleasing. Is there a design-focused TV show or movie that you love? Two come to mind— Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines as well as Property Brothers with the Scott Brothers. They’re kind of one and the same, but I love watching the transfor- mations. If you were a color, what color would you be—and why? I would be red. It’s bold and demands your attention. What type of design project do you find yourself working on most? I work on a lot of kitchen projects. Is there a design upgrade you’d love to make to your own home?

Traditional detail balanced with form and proportion for modern tastes, Kohler’s Harken brings sophistication to the bath or powder room.

How would you describe your person- al style? I like a mixture of styles and would describe myself as eclectic. Who inspires you? I’m inspired by people who step outside of their comfort zone going for that leap of faith. Can you describe a favorite design project you’ve worked on? TRACY WYNTER-EBANKS PARAMUS
