DEFININGSPACE
without closing it in!
Built for Evenings That Refuse to End Winter has a way of pushing people indoors. Doors close earlier, windows stay shut longer, and outdoor spaces get treated like they’re off duty until spring. But patios don’t need to be like that. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you stay inside. This is actually when we start looking at the outdoors differently. A patio in winter is not about pretending it is summer. It is about leaning into what winter already gives you. The moment a firepit is going, everything changes. What was an empty, unused space suddenly becomes where everyone wants to be. People naturally gather around it. Not because they have to, but because it feels good. The cold air is still there, but it makes the fire feel even better. You notice the warmth more. You stay longer. Conversations stretch out without anyone really thinking about the time. An outdoor TV takes it in another direction. Watching a game or a movie outside in winter sounds unusual until you actually do it. You wrap up in a jacket or a blanket, sit under the open sky, and it just works.
